Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster alum Michael Collins returns for special event benefiting children in Lancaster!

LANCASTER, PA – For the past 30 years Michael Collins (Insta @espncaddie) has been making people laugh on and off the course. From stand-up comedian to professional caddie – Michael has combined both of these talents in his role as an ESPN golf analyst and host of America’s Caddie on ESPN+. Michael journeys across the country covering the professional golf tour and interviewing golf’s biggest stars.

In 2022, Michael Collins was recognized nationally when he was inducted into Boys & Girls Clubs of America Alumni Hall of Fame. Michael joined the ranks of other internationally recognized celebrities, like Jennifer Lopez and Denzel Washington, as people who recognize the critical role Boys & Girls Clubs played in their childhood. You can hear about Michael’s experience growing up in Lancaster here: Michael Collins Video.

Returning to his hometown on June 15, 2023, Michael will be the featured keynote speaker at the Club to CLUBS event benefiting Boys & Girls Club of Lancaster. The event will help launch an exciting new opportunity at the Club, which connects youth in Lancaster City and Columbia to the game of golf. Young people will have the opportunity to learn the game, from etiquette to backswing and everything in between! Golf remains an exclusive sport for a number of reasons – cost being among them. However, one of the less talked about reasons is that you need an introduction to the sport. Most golfers don’t just wander onto a course and start playing. It takes mentoring and coaching to understand the games, the strategy, and the etiquette. This program connects our members with mentors who can connect with them in a meaningful way and teach them about the game. From volunteer everyday golfers to Clubhouse pros, participants will receive the coaching they need to feel comfortable on the greens (and in the sand traps too!).

In addition, members will have the opportunity to become trained caddies at Lancaster Country Club, will have the opportunity to caddie for scholarship opportunities through the J. Wood Platt Scholarship Trust, and learn the game of golf! This event will raise funds to support this special initiative and other afterschool and summer programs at the Club. The event begins at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are available for $50 per person. Full event details can be found at www.bgclanc.org/golfevent
