CONNECTING LANCASTER’S BUSINESS COMMUNITY TO LOCAL ENERGY, ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY RESOURCES
Chamber Updates, New Programming

Written by Kirsten Deysher, Entech Engineering, Inc. – Lititz

Serve. Connect. Solve. Lead. These are the core values of the Lancaster Chamber. As an active Chamber member for many years, I wanted to find a way to better serve the community by connecting the resources I know so much about with those who need them the most. On May 19th the Energy, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Roundtable will launch. I am pleased to be co-chairing this committee with Steve Matzura, Esq. who is a leader in the environmental, workplace safety, and utilities law practice at Saxton & Stump.

The chamber roundtable programs foster meaningful peer-to-peer connection and discussion in an invigorating and confidential environment. In my participation in similar roundtables in neighboring communities we have used this forum to solve serious safety challenges, make critical vendor connections, and provide educational programming that led to reduced environmental burden/fees. Our roundtable team is looking forward to helping Lancaster businesses solve some of their greatest EHS and energy related challenges. We have turned to Co-Chair Steve Matzura to lead our first discussion, one that is applicable to businesses of all sizes across manufacturing, healthcare, food processing, and a host of other industries – Right-Sizing Your EHS Compliance and Permitting.

If you are responsible for environmental, health, and safety, or energy and sustainability at your workplace, we encourage you to join us in developing this valuable network, whether it is your full-time position with a title of EHS or SHE manager, or part of your responsibilities as Plant Manager, HR Manager, Engineer, or Owner, there is a seat for you at the table. I hope to see you on the 19th!
