We'll Get Back to You: A Prima Theatre Production
A Play That Could Do More for Your Business Than a Year of Staff Meetings
Digital Article Series, Uncategorized

If you’re looking to boost employee engagement, deepen team connection, and spark energy in your workplace—start with an unexpected tool: the arts.

This spring, Prima Theatre invites Lancaster’s business leaders to a rare experience that delivers not just laughter, but insight. The East Coast premiere of We’ll Get Back to You is a comedic and revelatory new play by best-selling author and cultural voice Rob Bell, running April 25–May 10. And it may just offer more value to your team’s wellbeing than you’d expect.

The play centers on a job interview that unravels into something wildly unexpected—exposing the quirks, contradictions, and truths baked into modern work life. It’s part comedy, part soul-searching, and fully relevant for anyone who’s ever asked: Is this really what work and life is supposed to feel like?

“Rob’s work consistently speaks of finding subversive and joyful ways to be fully human,” says Mitch Nugent, Founding Executive Producer of Prima. “This play is about waking up—at work and in life. It’s comedic, thought-provoking, and packed with moments that teams will carry with them long after the final bow.”

Bell, known for shaping conversations on spirituality, creativity, and leadership, brings that same depth to the stage.

“The protocols and pretensions of an office environment can get away with the most absurd performative behaviors,” Bell says. “But unless someone goes, ‘Hold on a second… this is theater,’ nothing changes. This play is about noticing the performance, breaking the script, and rediscovering something more human—and more alive.”

Named one of Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World, Bell will be in Lancaster for audience talk-backs after the April 26 & 27 performances. Then, on May 4, Lancaster Chamber’s Justin Johnson joins a special panel on workplace vitality—a must-attend event for business leaders exploring new ways to engage and retain talent.

Why This Matters for Your Team

“Cultural vitality fuels a region’s economic success—and Prima is a game-changer for driving Lancaster forward.”

Heather Valudes, President & CEO of the Lancaster Chamber:

Through We’ll Get Back to You, Prima is providing a turnkey opportunity to recharge your team—not with a lecture, but with a shared, emotionally rich experience. Prima’s corporate group packages include:

  • Reserved seating
  • Optional post-show receptions
  • Brand recognition opportunities
  • Access to exclusive behind-the-scenes events

It’s team-building that’s authentic, energizing, and actually fun.

And it’s made even more powerful by community partnerships—like with Tono Group, who not only sponsored this production, but also designed and built the immersive office set. Their collaboration brings to life a sleek, surreal workspace that mirrors the emotional and structural quirks of real-life corporate culture. It’s a shining example of how the business and arts communities can come together to create something extraordinary.

3 Ways to Engage:

  • Bring Your Team: Create a shared moment your staff will talk about long after the show.

  • Sponsor a Production or Initiative: Join leaders like Tono Group in supporting cultural experiences that make Lancaster a vibrant place to live and work. Contact tessa@primatheatre.org for details.

  • Make it a Night Out: Treat your clients, board, or loved ones to a night that reinvigorates connection and joy.

It’s no secret that traditional workplace strategies are falling short. Burnout is real. Engagement is low. And team morale is hard to manufacture. That’s where the arts come in—not just as entertainment, but as essential emotional infrastructure

“This play gives people permission to think about work differently,” says Nugent. “It’s funny. It’s freeing. And it reminds us that being fully alive is the goal—not just being productive.” Featuring nationally celebrated BIPOC performer Veanna Black (The Beanie Bubble, Genius: MLK/X), the production is more than a show—it’s a space for transformation.

We’ll Get Back to You is more than a title—it’s a question. What will you do to keep your team inspired, your workplace culture healthy, and your own spark alive? Let this be your invitation to answer boldly.
