Malcolm Gladwell Returns to Lancaster County

The Lancaster Chamber is proud to announce that internationally acclaimed author and thought-leader Malcolm Gladwell will return as the keynote speaker for the 154th Annual Dinner on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Lancaster County Convention Center. This marks the first time in the Chamber’s history that a keynote speaker has been invited back to the Annual Dinner stage.

Ten years ago, Gladwell challenged Lancaster County’s business community to rethink how transformation truly happens, not through a handful of superstars, but through the collective strength of many. He reframed success as something built from the middle out, shaped by everyday leaders, small and mid-sized businesses, and the systems that allow people to contribute and collaborate. That message continues to resonate in a region defined not by a single breakthrough, but by steady collaboration across businesses, industries, and leaders who show up every day to strengthen the local economy.

“As we look at where Lancaster County stands today, we see a community that has embraced the very principles Malcolm spoke about a decade ago,” said Heather Valudes, President & CEO of the Lancaster Chamber. “Growth and innovation here move through this community because leaders choose to show up again and again for one another, for their businesses, and for this County. Inviting Malcolm back allows us to revisit those ideas at a moment when they feel even more relevant and explore what they mean for the next ten years of business and civic life in Lancaster County.”

The return also coincides with the 25th anniversary of Gladwell’s groundbreaking book The Tipping Point, which reshaped how leaders understand change, momentum, and human behavior. In a time defined by rapid technological advancement and shifting economic landscapes, this conversation offers a timely opportunity to reflect on how communities build resilience, adapt to new realities, and create lasting impact.
