The Extraordinary Give, hosted by the Lancaster County Community Foundation, offers Lancaster County businesses a powerful way to do both: give back, engage employees, and strengthen the local impact that makes our community thrive.
This year, ExtraGive is November 21. For 24 hours, visit ExtraGive.org and make an online donation to a cause you care about. Each donation is stretched with a half-million-dollar pool, helping every contribution go further for nonprofits supporting Lancaster County. Since 2012, our community has raised more than $110 million, with over 40,000 donors supporting more than 500 organizations that enrich life here in Lancaster.
Discovering Paths Mentorship Program
At the Lancaster Chamber, our ExtraGive focus is clear: Inspiring the workforce of tomorrow—today.
The Discovering Paths Mentoring Program inspires, guides, and empowers high school juniors as they consider their next steps after graduation. Through one-on-one mentoring with Lancaster County professionals, hands-on career exploration, and direct exposure to local industries, Discovering Paths helps students discover what’s possible—right here in their community.
This program not only provides clarity and confidence for students; it strengthens Lancaster’s workforce pipeline by connecting future graduates with employers actively seeking talent.
Empowering Lancaster’s Future Workforce
Lancaster County continues to see a growing need for skilled workers. While our Land in Lancaster initiative attracts talent from beyond our region, many of the brightest future employees already live here. Discovering Paths invests directly in those students.
Each year, more than 150 students explore Lancaster workplaces—touring facilities, meeting professionals, and gaining exposure to real-world career opportunities. From healthcare and manufacturing to technology, skilled trades, finance, and more, students experience the variety of careers available right in their own backyard.
For employers, Discovering Paths offers a high-impact, low-barrier way to engage with emerging talent and invest in a strong, sustainable workforce.
