In February, Texas faced a power crisis from winter weather that caused a massive electricity generation failure in the state – and prompted people across the United States to wonder how it happened and if it could happen in their area. On March 30th, the Lancaster Chamber will be hosting our first Wake Up to the Issues Forum of 2021 to explore this topic and learn more about energy reliability in PA.
The forum, sponsored by Walz Group and Tristarr, will be held virtually from 10:30-11:30am and feature Senator Ryan Aument (36th District, Lancaster), Senator Gene Yaw (Chair, PA Senate Environmental Resources & Energy Committee) and Stephen Bennett (Manager, Regulatory and Legislative Affairs, PJM Interconnection). They will share information about the energy and electricity market and structure in PA, while also providing insight on reliability, regulations, and a look at the energy market in the future.
Dependable energy infrastructure and energy choices are critical components of business continuity and having awareness of energy policies can help to ensure businesses are informed and sharing their perspectives as decisions are made that impact them.
