Part III of our 6-part series on Mental Health and Wellbeing, will highlight Stress and the Mind-Body Connection.
In this session, attendees will learn to:
• Express an understanding of the Holmes-Rahe Stress Inventory tool
• Be able to recognize life events that may affect their stress level
• Explain the mind-body connection as it pertains to health.
• Describe the role of chronic stress and disease.
• Identify life changes that are most stressful.
• List and discuss stress- management skills
Speaker: Julie L. Evarts, RN, MSN, CRNP, CWC, Clinical Director of Health, Safety and Wellness at EHD
Since 2005, Julie Evarts, RN, MSN, CRNP, CWC, Clinical Director of Health, Safety and Wellness, has been growing and shaping the Integrated Health Management Program at EHD, one of the largest independent insurance agencies on the east coast. Before joining EHD, Julie worked as a Nurse Practitioner in Hershey and Philadelphia. She is directly involved in the development, implementation, and evaluation of health & productivity initiatives aimed at improving the health status and healthcare consumer skills of both employees and dependents while reducing medical and lost time costs. Julie has watched the health management field grow and change during this time and, with over 30 years of nursing experience and 14 years of population health management involvement, she is the firm’s principal expert in the area of health management. In the community, Julie serves as the Chair for Harrisburg Area Community College Wellness and Health Promotion Program Advisory Committee. Julie is also a member of the Strategic Development Committee at CPBGH.
