There have been significant changes in the world of work. Candidates are in driver’s seat and to remain competitive, organizations need to rethink recruiting and retention. Scott Fiore, President of TriStarr, will talk about local and national trends and provide his thoughts on how to remain competitive and attract and keep the best candidates. Scott will be joined by Salena Coachman, Vice President of Talent Sustainability, Diversity, and Inclusion of Armstrong World Industries, for a conversation on practical policies and strategies businesses can implement to drive their talent pipeline forward in the upcoming year. 


About the Speakers:

Scott Fiore, President, TriStarr Staffing

 Scott has been a partner at TriStarr for over 25 years, where he oversees the day-to-day operations of the Staffing and Professional / Direct Hire Recruiting divisions of the business.  Scott provides consulting to clients specifically in Personality & Behavioral Assessments in selection and team dynamics.  He also provides consulting services to non-profit organizations’ search committees for Executive Director, President and other senior leadership positions.  Being active day to day with a wide variety of clients who turn to TriStarr for help recruiting, he has a unique and up-to-date pulse of the current state of the workforce.  Scott is an active member of the Lancaster County community, having served on several boards and serving Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Lancaster Chamber of Commerce and Industry as well as Vice Chair of the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic.  He lives in Lancaster with his wife, Laura and has three children, two daughters: 29 and 26 and son, 21.

Salena J. Coachman, Vice President of Talent Sustainability, Diversity, & Inclusion, Armstrong World Industries

Salena serves as the VP Talent Sustainability, Diversity & Inclusion for Armstrong World Industries. AWI is developing and deploying an integrated and enterprise-wide Sustainability Program as a strategic enabler. 10-year horizon goals have been set in three Pillars of Focus: Product, Plant and People. At a high level, the People Pillar goals are about safe, healthy and fulfilled employees; a diverse workforce and inclusive culture; and active engagement in all communities where AWI operate. Salena is responsible for development and execution of programs and processes in support of the company’s Talent Sustainability (People Pillar) goals, working with the HR and Sustainability teams, the People Pillar council, company leadership and employees broadly. Before joining AWI, Salena worked for ExpressJet Airlines for 22 years where she was consistently promoted into roles of increasing responsibility and visibility. Salena held roles in Employee Learning & Development, Operations Management, Employee Engagement, Employee Relations and Engagement and Diversity and Inclusion during her tenure with ExpressJet. While at ExpressJet, she served as board president of WINGS, When In Need Get Support, the companies non-profit foundation that provided employee grants in dire situations. She is currently also on the board of directors for the AWI Foundation, which provides in-kind product and financial grants to non-profits, as well as grants for employees in dire situations. Salena studied English and Vocal and Performing Arts at the University of Texas at Arlington and later transferred and also attended the University of Houston. She enjoys life to the fullest and is a fitness enthusiast. She recently moved to Lancaster County from Fayetteville, Ga
