On Thursday, May 30, we held our 147th Annual Dinner—the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Lancaster Chamber and one of the biggest events in Lancaster County.

This year’s theme was ‘Lean Into The Bold’, a take on how Lancaster County has been cultivating collective business and community growth through new ideas while honoring the core of what makes us special.

This year’s introduction video brought the night’s theme to life by celebrating the past, present, and future of Lancaster County.



Award Recipients

Each year community leaders are honored with four awards during the event.

Genise Wade (Vice President, Operations, Turkey Hill Dairy) was given the Athena Award. This award recognizes an outstanding professional for inspiring women to reach their full leadership potential.

Chip Cargas (Founder & Board Chair, Cargas Systems) was given the Exemplar Award. This award recognizes a Lancaster County business and/or individual who best exemplifies the spirit of the Chamber’s mission and has made significant contribution to the business community.

Roger North (Founder & President, North Group Consultants) was given the Small Businessperson of the Year Award. This award recognizes a small enterprise in Lancaster County and the significant contribution they make on the economy and overall climate of Lancaster County.

Jim Schultz (Founder & President, Applied Educational Systems) was given the Entrepreneur of the Year Award. This award honors the role of an entrepreneur in the economic landscape of Lancaster County.

Indra Nooyi

This year’s keynote speaker spoke to the audience of over 2,100 attendees via a livestream from New York City. She participated in a Q&A with Tom Baldrige and shared more insight into her time as the PepsiCo CEO.

Nooyi noted the importance of listening to your employees, surrounding yourself with different perspectives, and always assuming positive intent.

She went step by step through seven lessons to be an effective leader, noting many experiences in her home and work life that helped shape her worldview.
