Workplace Industry Tours
It is critical to connect business and education. We have programs like Workplace Industry Tours that connect teachers with on-site tours and educational experiences created to help educators then pass along knowledge about various industries to students.
These tours are open to teachers. Our 2020 lineup in July has just been announced! Learn more and register for each one below.
Teachers In The Workplace Industry Tour: A Focus On Assisted Living
June 16, 2020
Demand for long-term care has risen dramatially as the senior population in the United States has grown. Unnecessary hospitalization often results in higher expenditures and degrades the quality of life for older adtuls, making long-term care settings such as home care, nursing homes, hospices and assisted living facilities increasingly popular.
The day will start at PA College of Health Sciences where participants will learn about the many careers available in long-term care. After lunch, participants will travel to Masonic Village in Elizabethtown where they will see different types of long-term care settings such as independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing facilities.
Teachers In The Workplace Industry Tour: A Focus On Mental Health
June 17, 2020
The nation’s workforce of mental health workers is critical to pro-viding Americans with the health care services they need. The World Health Organization defines mental health as “a state of well-being in which the individual realizes his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to his or her community.”
The day will start at Millersville University where participants will learn about the many different ca-reers in the mental health field. Par-ticipants will then have an opportu-nity to visit several different mental health settings to learn more about possible careers.
