Structural engineers analyze, design, plan, and research structural components and structural systems to achieve design goals and ensure the safety and comfort of users or occupants. Structural engineers are involved at every stage of a structure’s realization and they play a key part in design and construction teams. Working with architects, and alongside other professions, structural engineers create conceptual designs and ensure that the structure can be built and is stable and durable. This informative offering will cover: Seminar Overview, Building Codes, Basic Structural Engineering Concepts, Soils and Concrete Construction (2 parts), Steel Construction, Pre-Engineered Metal Buildings and Cold-Rolled Steel, and Wood Construction and Fasteners. Includes CEU credits, course materials, light refreshments. Concludes with an interactive see and understand building facility learning tour. Two sessions to this offering.
