A tax update seminar, “Tax Tips for 2017” is planned for 1:30 p.m. on Monday, November 13, at Fairmount Homes in Ephrata. The speakers will be Joyce Martin, EA, and Steve Musser, CPA, of Covenant CPA LLC. The seminar will be held in the Crest View Gathering Room at 1100 Farm Crest Drive on the east side of the Fairmount campus, and the public is cordially invited to attend. While this is a free event, anyone planning to attend should reserve a seat by calling 717.354.1893.
An Enrolled Agent with more than 25 years of tax experience, Joyce Martin joined Covenant CPA LLC in 2012. Joyce is responsible for tax planning and preparation for personal, farm, and business returns, as well as QuickBooks support. Joyce’s niche expertise lays in notice resolution with all government agencies, including the IRS, the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, and other local agencies. She has earned an Associate degree in Business at Harrisburg Area Community College, and is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, as well as a Notary Public. Joyce is a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals, the National Notary Association, and the Board Vice-President of Crossfire.
Steve is a Certified Public Accountant and has been practicing public accounting for over two decades. Steve has experience with both individual and business income taxes. He also prepares financial statements for business client and helps QuickBooks users. Steve’s areas of expertise include closely held and family businesses, in addition to working with partnerships, S Corporations, and LLCs. He earned a BS in Accounting from Messiah College and a MS in Accounting from Weidner University. Steve is actively involved with the Pennsylvania Institute of CPA’s, the American Institute of CPAs, and Friends of the West Lampeter Township Police.

Topics of discussion will include Tax Brackets, Capital Gains, Retirement Planning, Tax Credits, Gifting, Itemized Deductions, and Changes in PA tax filing. Time will be allotted for questions and discussion as well.
