Emergency Medical Technician Staff Advisor (Part-time)

The College seeks qualified applicants for the part-time position of Diplomat Emergency Medical Team (DEMT) Staff Advisor. The DEMT Staff Advisor will oversee and direct the daily operations and personnel of the Emergency Medical Team, licensed as a Quick Response Service (QRS) by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. The position will establish goals and operational protocols to provide the highest-quality emergency medical services to the Franklin and Marshall community.
Responsibilities include:
•Planning, developing and implementing policies. Coordinating and managing department activities in accordance with established policies.
•Identifying and developing short and long-range goals, including evaluating programs to ensure effectiveness and alignment with goals.
•Planning, developing and overseeing the organizational budget.
•Supervising and mentoring a team of student volunteers to achieve department goals.
•Establishing and maintaining relationships with other campus organizations, departments and associated outside agencies to strengthen services.
•Providing support for campus emergencies as needed and based on the campus Crisis Management Plan.
The position requires a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends and on occasion, requires the need to report to work during off-duty hours.

Requirements:
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and current PA EMT certification or preferably, Paramedic certification and CPR Instructor certification, including at least 5 years employment as an EMT or Paramedic and leadership experience in an emergency response agency. Previous membership in a collegiate EMS organization is preferred. Candidate will demonstrate the ability to maintain confidential information and follow HIPPA regulations and provide excellent customer service skills. The position requires effective written and verbal communication skills, proven leadership skills and proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to calmly and appropriately respond to emergency situations are vital to this position.
