Join us to hear from the following panel of professionals:


Judge David Ashworth,  presides over Drug Court in Lancaster County, a voluntary adult program that targets ‘high risk/high need offenders and provides participants an opportunity to pursue treatment for their addiction, while productively addressing associated legal problems. He will present about legal implications for employers and participants in the Drug Court program.  


Scott Theurer, CRS, is a person in long-term recovery from addiction and works as a Recovery Support Specialist at the Center of Excellence Program at T.W. Ponessa & Associates Counseling Services in Lancaster. He will discuss his journey and working with individuals to establish and maintain recovery from opioid and heroin addiction.


Dr. Michael Reihart DO, FACEP, FAEMS, is the EMS Medical Director at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health, the Medical Director for Lancaster County Police Special Emergency Response Team and the Medical Director for Lancaster EMS.  He will provide a brief overview of the opioid epidemic, how addiction affects the brain and the impact of the epidemic on the medical/EMS community. 


Jennifer Craighead Carey, Esq is a Partner at Barley Snyder LLC.  She will address the ongoing opioid issue and legal implications in the workplace.
