There are a few assessment options within the SkillUp system which include O*Net and Kenexa:

  • O*Net is the nation's primary source of occupational information and provides the basis for Career Exploration Tools, a set of valuable assessment instruments for workers. 
  • Kenexa delivers a fast, effective method of sifting through large talent pools to determine if an individual has the required skills for a specific job. This skill assessment test is suitable for numerous roles and industries in multiple languages. 

There are more than 1,500 skills assessment test for clerical, software, call center, financial, health care, industrial and technical job classifications to help your company identify and select the most talents candidates for current and future positions.


Online learning platforms from industry recognized training providers are available, such as SkillSoft, Amatrol and MedCom. While individual entities can subscribe to each of these training providers for a fee, included in your $199/employee license through SkillUp, you will have access to all these sites and more than 4,000 training courses. 

  • SkillSoft features business skills content that is multi-dimensional and micro-sized which allows for flexible training and development solutions that can target the needs of diverse populations.  Content is ideal for busy managers both in their role today and as they plan for the next stage of their career - a critical issue facing organizations with growing millennial populations.
  • Amatrol offers a complete range of learning systems that allow industries to upgrade or refresh current skills and also teach new skills as needed. It's self-paced, flexible and creates job ready skills. Learning materials are developed in close partnership with key industry clients such as Ford, Tropicana, General Motors, Caterpillar and many others. As Industry continues to experience a shortage of technically skilled workers and as technical skills can become outdated within two years, having the right workers with the right skill sets are crucial to filling the growing skills gap and within this program there are many skills-based learning programs available to address these shortages and equip incumbent workers with the job-ready technical skills needed.
  • Medcom offers Continuing Education courses for a wide range of Allied Healthcare Professionals including physical therapists, dietitians, speech therapists, social workers, radiologic technologists, and more. Great resource to train staff and log their credentials and required competencies.


SkillUp Lancaster offers various training platforms and certifies that learning with specific credentials whether it be an Industry recognized credential or through Badges. Once an individual completes a series of training courses there is an option to be certified in different skill sets and this can be done through a few outlets.

  • Certiport is a leading provider of Value-Added Test Delivery Services for the Global Workforce and Academic Markets. A Pearson VUE business, Certiport, prepares individuals with current and relevant digital skills and credentials for the competitive workforce. There are more than 12,000 Certiport Authorized Testing Centers worldwide with roughly 175,000 exams administered on a monthly basis. Locally, there are two Certiport Authorized Centers: PA CareerLink of Lancaster County and HACC Harrisburg Campus. 

    Through the partnership with Microsoft Office, individuals can be certified as Microsoft Technology Associate , Adobe (r) Certified Associate, the Adobe (r) Certified Expert, Autodesk (r) Certified User, the Intuit(r) QuickBooks Certified and IC3 Digital Literacy Certification.
