2010-11 Proposed State Budget
In his 2010-11 budget request, Governor Rendell is proposing to lower the sales tax from 6 to 4 percent while broadening it to include professional services and "non-essential" items, excluding food, clothes and prescription drugs. The Chamber is very concerned about the impact a tax on professional services will have on the business community, which is why we aggressively opposed it over the last five years. The Chamber's leadership team has met with Lancaster's legislative delegation to discuss this issue specifically, along with other business-related issues.
